Welcome back! We hope everyone’s enjoying the start of the summer. Shout out to all of the teachers and educators who are finally getting some much deserved time off. We’re excited to bring a fresh list of great artist opportunities for you to consider. This month there’s a funding opportunity for documentary filmmakers who identify as disabled, a rejuvenating creative retreat to Saratoga, NY, and a couple of art calls for the visual artists out there. Hopefully one of these opportunities can help fund your next masterpiece or can help progress your creative career. Here are seven grants and artists opportunities to apply for in July

Open to emerging artists around the world in the first five years of active practice. This year’s prize asks artists to creatively respond to the theme ‘Tomorrow’ing: Visions of a better future’.A total prize fund of £20,000 will be split between six winners, five to receive £2,000 and one overall winner to receive £10,000. Winning artists will exhibit their work at Saatchi Gallery in London.

Artists are invited to submit their application from anywhere in the world.

Winners awards include showcasing in the group exhibition, receiving marketing materials such as exhibition catalogue, artwork badges, and certificates, providing intensive exposure for selected artists to promote and sell artworks, getting published in an international art publication and receiving valuable written feedback and comments from art lovers, experts, and potential buyers.

This program is for creators of color in documentary filmmaking or nonfiction new media who identify as living with a disability. We seek to bring visibility to creators who are oftentimes overlooked. While we prefer that a person of color living with a disability is a key contributor to the project, we welcome diverse teams to apply. Each year we award up to five creators with grants of up to $10,000 each to assist them in finishing their projects in any stage of production.

It is the mission of Buckham Gallery to enrich the cultural life of its surrounding communities by presenting a broad range of innovative contemporary art, both visual and nonvisual, of the highest quality and standard. 

Buckham Gallery, also known as Buckham Fine Arts Project, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1984. It is Buckham Fine Arts Project’s vision to actively encourage and support artists who are making unique and significant statements in their chosen disciplines, providing opportunities for our greater community to engage with and think about sometimes challenging works of art. 

We are currently accepting applications for Buckham’s 42nd Exhibition Season, October 2025 – September 2026. The museum-quality gallery is located in downtown Flint, Michigan. Our exhibitions are open to the public four days a week. The Buckham Fine Arts Project is pleased to announce partial shipping reimbursements available for artists selected to exhibit during our 42nd Exhibition Season!

Description:
We offer residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following disciplines: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists apply individually. Peer review is the keystone of our selection process, with different panelists each season. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board and a studio. There is no fee to come to Yaddo, and we have modest access grants to help offset the costs of attending a residency.
