The Pittsboro Public Art Committee invites artists to submit public-ready sculptures for our inaugural Sculpture Celebration @ The Plant in Pittsboro. We are seeking up to 25 small, medium and large-scale, outdoor-appropriate sculptures for potential purchase and installation throughout our charming town in North Carolina.
The Sculpture Celebration will kick off with an outdoor community dinner celebrating the artists Friday night, September 19, 2025. Committed purchasers will be invited to have a first look Friday night.
The Sculpture Celebration will be Saturday from noon-6pm with musicians and also pop-up artists and craftspeople. The town of Pittsboro will be hosting art events throughout the weekend as well.
The purchased artwork will be installed in the Town of Pittsboro easements that have been designated for public art.

The Doug Pensinger Photography Fund supports emerging and early-career sports photographers. Photographers with more than 3 years cumulative paid professional sports photography experience are considered beyond the scope of the DPPF’s programs. Previous DPPF grant recipients are not eligible to apply.
The DPPF is committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity and to providing free merit-based access to its programs. The application process is not limited to U.S. citizens, although international candidates should be aware that the DPPF is not able to provide support that is prohibited under U.S. law.

Monte Dulce Spring Classic

The Monte Dolce Classic is an approved American Culinary Federation Competition. The competition will be held on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. The event is open to the public for viewing.
The Saturday Competition will be a display competition. There will be many tables set up and student and professional competitors will display their artwork. The displays will represent Culinary Arts (Cold Platters), Baking & Pastry Arts (Specialty Cakes, Pastry Tables, Bread Displays).
The Sunday competition will consist of live contemporary cooking for student and professional chefs and pastry chefs. Competitors will have a 1-hour time slot with a 10-minute window for plating to create and exhibit their best live-action skills as they are being closely watched by ACF-certified judges. The competition will take place in Lab 208 on the second floor of NFCI and there are plenty of windows for spectators to view all of the action. Once the plates are complete they will be placed on display tables for the public to view.

The Yéigo Action Grant provides support for the growing landscape of Native artists and culture bearers who need financial assistance with a specific professional opportunity or towards a hardship that is hindering their creative practice.
This program offers grants between $100 and $1,000 for individual Native artists and culture bearers. First Peoples Fund (FPF) finds it essential to support artists in their times of need, especially when their work is impacted by sudden hardship. This grant’s name incorporates the Diné word yéigo, often used as a phrase of encouragement that can mean “keep going” or “don’t give up.”
While some hardship requests related to a current artistic project may be eligible, please note that Yéigo Action Grants are not intended to assist with funding new or existing artist projects.

The SFFILM Rainin Grant program is the largest granting body for independent narrative feature films in the US. Grants support films that address social justice issues—the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges—in a positive and meaningful way through plot, character, theme, or setting and benefit the Bay Area filmmaking community in a professional and economic capacity.
Awards are made to 15-20 projects once a year in the fall, for screenwriting, development, or post-production. In addition to a cash grant of up to $25,000, recipients secure a one month residency at FilmHouse and benefit from SFFILM’s comprehensive and dynamic artist development programs.

The Foundation provides financial resources for visual artists to create new work, acquire supplies, rent studio space, prepare for exhibitions, attend a residency and offset living expenses. The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. There are no deadlines. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Foundation will review expenditures relating to an artist’s professional work and personal expenses and amounts range up to $50,000. The Apprentice Hand Engraver is responsible for developing their skills and craftsmanship to achieve Tiffany & Co. hand engraving quality and productivity standards. The apprentice works closely with a master engraver and management to learn the techniques of hand engraving including: workshop set-up and safety, tools and equipment; layout cuts and shading, along with engraving letters, numbers, and simple symbols/images. The Apprentice is expected to achieve milestones appropriate to their training and experience throughout the program and to develop into a Tiffany & Co. Staff Engraver.
What You’ll Do:
- Work safely at all times. The apprentice is responsible for understanding and following all safety guidelines including, personal protective equipment, ergonomics, machine guarding and hazardous materials
- Learn the techniques of hand engraving by working with a master engraver. The master engraver uses explanation, demonstration and assessment to deliver information to the apprentice. The apprentice is responsible for seeking clarification when necessary, practicing techniques and incorporating feedback into their work.

- Driving inspiration and complete product assortments for monthly seasonal collections.

Job Responsibilities
- Under the directive of the category Design Director, this candidate will research and concept creative ideas in accordance with seasonal line plans specific to handbags, SLG and accessories development; concept presentation should include vintage research, shape mockups, swatch developments for material applications, material research, and sketches. All designs presented should consider finishes, trims, closures, functionality and branding as needed.

- Under the directive of the Sr. Designer this candidate will help with creative research and concepting of creative ideas in accordance with seasonal line plans specific to footwear development; concept presentation should include last research, vintage research, swatches/ mockup developments, material research, sketches, drapes where applicable and fabric manipulation. All designs presented should consider finishes, trims, closures and branding as needed.
- Bridge the gap between design and development team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the product development cycle
- Create technical spec for factories and ensure accurate and clear communication to support the development process.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and ensure all design documentation is delivered to development partners on time. And come up with creative solution to overcome challenges that arise during the development process.
